CIA nominee Gen. Michael Hayden insisted on Thursday that the Bush administration's warrantless surveillance program was legal and that it was designed to ensnare terrorists _ not spy on ordinary people.

"Clearly the privacy of American citizens is a concern constantly," the four-star Air Force general told the Senate Intelligence Committee at his confirmation hearing. "We always balance privacy and security."

Hayden was peppered by as many questions about the National Security Agency, the super-secret agency that he headed from 1999-2005, as about his visions for the CIA.

So what the hell is the point? I mean you can listen to phone conversations until you're stupid ears fall off and the Mexican border is a GD sieve!

You're listening for terrorists and yet you want to let in every Jesus, Juan, and his crippled grandfather into the USA free gratis! Oh yeah this all really makes since. Oh sure we would not let in any terrorists, my God that would never happen!

If Bush and Co were serious about national security they would have locked down American borders on the evening of 09/11/01 and they would still be locked down. I swear the people running this country must think we're all idiots of the first water and can't read!
