QNS. ALIEN LIKES WHAT

QNS. ALIEN LIKES WHAT
HE HEARS IN SPEECH

By LORENA MONGELLI

May 16, 2006 -- A Queens baker who's in the country illegally sees "opportunities" in the immigration program President Bush laid out last night.
Tomas Salvador Olivares, 57, who watched the president's speech with his family last night, emigrated from Mexico and has been in the United States for 20 years. He worked hard to become the owner of Carolo Bakery in Jackson Heights.

His temporary work permit expired long ago and he has been working with an immigration lawyer to try to gain citizenship.

Olivares believes Bush's plan to create a path to citizenship for those who are willing to pay taxes, "pay a meaningful penalty" and follow the law, will put him on the road to legal status.

"This will only be positive for us," Olivares said. "It will give us more opportunities. We don't have to live in fear of being deported."

Olivares said he wasn't a fan of the president when he first took office, saying, "I thought he was arrogant and he wasn't accessible." But he says Bush is, "accessible now, especially with regard to immigration laws.

"He presents himself as a strong leader. I feel he wants to help us."

Bold red highlights in excerpt are mine. So here you have it right from the mouth of an 'invader' who came here on a 'work permit' and just over stayed it a bit. He's and 'illegal invader' and should have been deported long ago. This is what our POTUS wants to do is 'legalize the illegal invaders.' The 'invader' says he feels Bush wants to help him and his ilk. How about helping 'the citizens of this nation who were born and bred here.' Our politicians are suppose to 'put America and American citizens first in all things.' Foreign 'invaders' are just that 'foreign illegal invaders' and should be deported PDQ!
