Can anybody tell me who is in charge of the Republican Party?
Can anybody tell me who is in charge of the Republican Party?
I would love to complain about the current direction of the Republican Party, but I can’t find anybody in charge to speak to. It’s all sort of surreal. It is very clear who speaks for the Democrats. Every single day I hear what Nancy or Harry has to say. They keep reminding me there is a Republican party out there that they oppose.
There’s this guy Bill Frist and another called Dennis Hastert that are supposed to represent the Republicans, but they seldom ever say anything to make me think they are really in charge of anything. Senators McCain and Specter may say absolutely anything on any given day so they don’t seem like they are the ones to complain to. There are others who appear on Fox news who have an (R) by their name, but there seem more interested in their own careers than the Party. There is certainly no unifying message that is so typical of the Democrats.
While I am searching for a Republican in charge, a noisy Democrat chorus of Kennedy, Hillary, Schumer, Rangel, Boxer, and Feinstein sing out loudly behind Harry and Nancy. There is no doubt about the Democrats. Their message may be fuzzy nonsense, but they are unified. In fact, if it weren’t for their constant harping I wouldn’t believe the Republican Party really existed.

The Republicans seem content to rest upon their laurels and bask in their control of Congress and the White House. Criticizing Republican leadership (Or lack of same) or even questioning what coherent plan Republicans have for anything is met with a firestorm of hot comments by the Republican rank and file and others of the usual suspects.
The Republicans who are resting on their laurels now and basking in their control will soon be moaning about loss of control and the basking will be over with. In my mind the Republicans have proved they are as feckless as the Democrats when it comes to governing this nation. No one has any plan about anything, except CYA and getting elected again.
Since both major political parties in this nation do not give a fig about the voters it seems not to matter who thinks they are in charge because in reality the politicians sold out to the multinationals decades ago. If we do not find a new and viable political party in this country the ass kissers on both sides of the aisle will sell this nation to the highest bidder. We are nearing the breakpoint now!
