British teachers see rise in Islamaphobia

British teachers see rise in Islamaphobia
LONDON, April 17 (UPI) --

British teachers have warned of a continuous rising tide of Islamaphobia in schools that began with last year's London bomb attacks.

As one way of combating the problem, the National Union of Teachers has issued guidelines to all members insisting they should tackle racial incidents in schools and make it clear that there is no excuse for such behaviour.

Delegates at the teachers' conference in Torquay said that many Muslims felt under increasing pressure from racial intolerance. They also warned that groups such as the British National Party and the National Front had been exploiting the tensions and spreading a message of racial hatred.

The union claimed that the government's "war on terror" and its aim to be "tough but fair" on immigration had also resulted in intimidation toward asylum-seekers and political refugees.

Steve Sinnott, the general secretary of the teachers union, said an increase in anti-Semitism in schools also had been detected.

There is no 'phobia' about it! People are finally seeing Islam and Muslims for what they truly are. Islam is a dogmatic bloodthirsty cult and its adherents are another rendition of a 'Jim Jones cult of Koolaide drinkers.'
