WASHINGTON — Gasoline prices will remain high for years to come and will be largely unaffected by a new White House plan to bring them down, Bush administration officials said Sunday.
Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman said the United States faced an oil price "crisis" because surging demand from such countries as China and India had outstripped supply, and he predicted that it would be "two to three years before suppliers are in a position to meet the demands."
"The suppliers have lost control of the market," he told NBC's "Meet the Press."

I say HORSE-SHIT , if you'll forgive my temper getting the better of me!
The suppliers/petrol nationals have the market just where they want it! I hate for people to, 'piss down the back of my neck and tell me its raining' and that's exactly what is happening!
I thought we had, "Mr. I'm In Charge Here," as POTUS! However it seems that, "Mr. I'm In Charge Here," is not really in charge and that the oil companies are free to gouge the public at will, while he mumbles more idiotic platitudes!
I voted for GW twice and I freely admit I made a huge mistake! No one the Dem's were running or could have run could have been more incompetent then GW has proven to be.
