House Moves To Limit '527' Political Groups

WASHINGTON -- The House of Representatives voted to limit massive donations to nonprofit political groups.
Republicans say they've closed a loophole in campaign finance law. The vote is a blow to Democrats, who see it as an effort to undercut their supporters.
The so-called "527" groups, which are named after a section of tax law, overwhelmingly favored Democratic causes during the 2004 election.
They include groups like America Coming Together, a Democratic organization, as well as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which attacked John Kerry's war record. Both groups received multi-million-dollar donations, which would be barred under this legislation.
The tax-exempt organizations use voter mobilization and issue advertisements to influence federal elections.

527 they say! I say that's just the tip of the iceberg. Someone working for business has been lobbying for the 'guest worker program' and the 'unlimited invasion' of Mexicans into to the USA. Might I suggest that all lobbies be forbidden to lobby at any level of government be the lobbies Dem, Repub, or whatever.
