Conservatives & The Lack Of Same
I've been doing a major amount of thinking lately and I'm of the firm belief that we need a 'Real Conservative Party' in this country. We are being ill served by many politicians in this nation who pass themselves off as Conservatives and then fly in the face of 'Real Conservative Issues'.
The problems on the Mexican border and to a lesser extant the Canadian border is just the tip of the iceberg when it come to giving this nation away to the highest bidder. The attempt to sell US ports to the UAE was another attempt to sell security for profit. Then it is revealed that a Hong Kong based company is going to be in charge of port security for many American ports.
Is it not possible to keep US security in US hands? Do we have to sacrifice our entire nation on the altar of 'profit before all'. While I'm all for free enterprise there are or should be certain lines that are never crossed. It would not surprise me to see a headline tomorrow that reads, "US to outsource nuke armament production."
America and American 'citizens' have to come 'first' before any other considerations. Those who say we need to engage in total free enterprise at any cost I call 'traitors' to the spirit of the 'Founding Fathers' and what this country should be and now is not!
When courts, lawyers, and special interest groups of all stripes wail about the 'rights of illegal invaders', I say, "What about the 'rights' of those of us who are born and bred Americans."
We need this 'Real Conservative Party' ASAP as we are being ill served by this latest brand of 'Republican Party Conservatives' and the Democratic Party is so far to the left members of the DNC won't admit to having a right hand. We are left with a bad choice and a horrible choice the way the 2-party system now works in this nation.
I realize that the 'Bush is God crowd' and the 'Professional Republican Crowd' are not happy with many Conservatives like myself who won't walk in lockstep behind every move made by Republicans in Congress and any decision made by Bush. I fear that come Nov 2006 the Republican Party is going to reap what they have sowed. You can't kick people in the teeth who helped your party gain control of Congress and by the skin of your teeth kept Bush in office for 2 terms. As the saying goes, "Paybacks are hell, when you're on the receiving end."
